AST and Peixin, two converting machinery manufacturers with a combined 65 years of experience in the hygiene industry, recently finalized a long-term strategic partnership that capitalizes on their complementary strengths. Their combined capabilities bring manufacturers of disposable hygiene products a new category of value in equipment and services. Under the terms of the agreement, AST and Peixin will cross-market their products, and factory service and support in their respective regions, increasing the quality and responsiveness of customer support, globally. AST has been involved in the hygiene industry since 1965, spedficially with diaper manufacturing. Its facilities are lcoataed in Tacoma, WA. Peixin, meanwhile, is one of China’s oldest and largest manufacturers of equipment for faical tissue and diapers. Machines are exported to more than 90 countries worldwide. “Combining AST and Peixin’s technology, product platforms and manufacturing capabilities provides our customers the best of both worlds. By bringing AST’s proven designs and innovative solutions together with Peixin’s manufacturing quality and cost leadership we offer exceptional performance and a low total cost of ownership,” says Royce Tourtillott, AST’s hygiene segment manager. The combined product portfolio is ideally suited to emerging markets where growing income is driving demand for feminine care and disposable baby care products. Also included are machines designed to produce absorbent pads and adult incontinence products to meet the needs of an aging global demographic.
